Mark Gehring, a biomedical engineer and software developer who has founded and grown medical imaging and digital health companies, will receive the 13th annual Ken Hendricks Memorial "Seize the Day" award at the 2016 Wisconsin Entrepreneurs' Conference in June.
In this Imaging Technology News article, author Dave Fornell highlights the criticality that imaging plays in "detection, staging, and evaluation of tumor response to treatment." Certainly, change in size often offers solid insight into treatment effectiveness, however, there are
This week is the Society of Thoracic Radiology annual meeting, which gave us the opportunity to build an infographic about the contributions of radiology to lung cancer care progression.
This week is the annual conference for the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), which will bring together more than 40,000 health tech professionals, clinicians, and healthcare executives. If you didn't make it to Vegas, track the conference on Twitter by following @HIMSS or the main hashtag #HIMSS16.
The Xconomists, including our CSO Mark Gehring, were asked to share their views of the biggest advances in 2015. Mark's response ran on Xconomy January 6, 2016.
Researchers at Moffitt Cancer Care, a HealthMyne imaging analytics partner, have identified radiomics features that provided an improved risk prediction model based on data from the National Lung Cancer Screening Trial.
HealthMyne was selected as the “Most Promising Company”, the top award at the Personalized Medicine World Conference in Silicon Valley. The competition involved two rounds of presentations and selection by a panel of judges, including venture capitalists from Mérieux Développement, Five Prime Ventures, Data Collective, and Faridan Ventures.
Since we covered Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) sessions on quantitative imaging in our last blog post, this post focuses on another set of sessions we are interested in: analytics in radiology. For a good, general read about healthcare analytics, Deloitte recently published Health system analytics The missing key to unlock value-based care.
“Sometimes reality is too complex. Stories give it form.”
- French filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard
We're not going to gloss over it: radiology is complex. So when we started telling the story of HealthMyne's software, things got complicated quickly. But you know what they say about pictures - one is worth a thousand words!
At our first Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Annual Meeting, we will be showing our radiology workflow tools, including providing electronic health record (EHR) data along with the images. However, our vision for the future includes enabling informatics by turning images into data behind the scenes in daily workflow. You can read more about the impact of quantitative imaging in "Radiomics Could Change the Role of Radiologists", which provides the radiologist perspective from Drs. Gillies, Hricak, Deasy, and Kinahan.
